Centre Génération Emploi (CGE)

Mission

The Centre Génération Emploi is an employment counselling center that offers services, mostly free of charge, for the development of employability under a global and intercultural approach in order to welcome, accompany and help people from immigrant, cultural and racialized minority communities to prepare themselves for employment and to integrate socially, professionally and economically into Quebec society.

Services

Employment support and training

  • Employment preparation program (16 years and older): Coaching and support in finding, integrating and maintaining employment for people who are far from the labor market and experiencing significant difficulties in integrating into employment. Continuous entry program.
  • Work integration support (18-35 years old): Coaching and career support for young people who need a helping hand to start their career or move towards an ideal career. Continuous entry program.
  • Employment Insurance Program (Information Sessions – Group): Program available only to new Employment Insurance claimants who have received a call to an information session that is designed to get them moving quickly toward employment.
  • Personalized meetings for EI claimants (individual): Program available only to individuals who have benefited from group labor market information sessions who want a more in-depth meeting to discuss specific challenges and needs and find solutions and resources.
  • Personalized meetings for EI claimants (individual): Program available only to individuals who have benefited from group labor market information sessions who want a more in-depth meeting to discuss specific challenges and needs and find solutions and resources.
  • Employment Support for International Students and Asylum Seekers: An in-house, non-governmental program to assist international students and asylum seekers in their job search (limited service). Continuous entry program.
  • Vibre ta vie! (ages 16-35): Program starting September 1, 2022, for young people from the social system who are not in employment, education, or training (NEEF), from immigrant, cultural, or racialized communities, to help them explore their life aspirations and direct them to a training or career of choice. This program aims to explore the potential of each young person in order to allow them to blossom, connect to society and evolve in a positive way in their life path. Program in cohort (group) and individual format.

Location

Hours of operation

All of our services are available Monday through Thursday from 8:30am to 4:30pm in-person and remotely, and on Fridays remotely only (telecommuting employees) from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Summer schedule: June 24 to September 6, 2022, Fridays from 8:30am to 1pm.
Close for 10 business days during the December/January holiday season.
